What is a LimeLight Facial?
Cutera’s LimeLight is a new, non-invasive approach to skin revitalization that improves skin tone and surface imperfections associated with aging and photodamage. It delivers a pulse of light tailored to your skin type to correct redness, tiny veins, brown spots and sun damage.
What types of skin conditions can the LimeLight Facial treat?
LimeLight Photorejuvenation treats any part of your face, neck and décolleté with skin redness, telangiectasia (tiny veins) or brown spots. Light brown spots that have previously been difficult to resolve respond very well to this treatment.
How does LimeLight rejuvenate the skin?
The specialists at Central Park Aesthetique begin by first cleansing and prepping your skin for the facial. You are then outfitted with protective eyewear to use during treatment.
The laser sends pulsated light energy to the area you want treated. The practitioner customizes your LimeLight facial to your skin type and selectively treats the brown and/or red pigmented areas on your skin. It’s the heating of the pigmented brown or red cells that causes the therapeutic effect.
Topical anesthetics aren’t used during LimeLight treatments at Central Park Aesthetique so you can provide appropriate feedback during treatment. You may feel some minor discomfort while the laser works on your skin, but most patients feel very little pain if any at all. Clear gel is applied to the face during the treatment that serves as a barrier between the skin and the handle.
For the best results, you may need more than one treatment, especially for excessively sun-damaged skin.
What happens after treatment?
Immediately following your treatment, brown spots will start to darken and your skin may appear slightly red. Make-up can be applied over any redness. Within one to three weeks, the darkened spots will flake off and fade. Redness will decrease and complexion will improve. The aesthetic specialists at Central Park Aesthetique work closely with you to develop a plan to get the look you want.
Being mindful of sun exposure and wearing sunblock when you’re outside is of upmost importance. New brown spots may appear with new sun damage; however they too can be treated.
